The Tunnel
I think its very fitting considering that the story has multiple links to the underground
the conations of the title -
- tunnels are used to make travelling easier and making connections
- tunnels create a passage from one place to another
- it creates a sense of claustrophobia
- its a confined space
- a common saying is that "there's light at the end of the tunnel"
- a tunnel is making you go in a certain direction - maybe not the way you want to go
- if there is light at the end it can give a silhouette effect of the person or object in front of it
there's something quite eerie about the look of a tunnel too. A solid black darkness is quite daunting. People who are scared of the dark have a phobia called, Nyctophobia.
I would use the tunnel more heavily in the advertising side of project - use it in the poster and have the "The Tunnel" in the middle of the picture of the tunnel. Also somewhere else on the poster have sign markers like this- but change the names to something more scary, (or maybe put reviews from magazines intertwined in it too.)
