this is the real version
I tried to copy the silence of the lamb’s poster because it
is considered a thriller film and the poster was different to other thriller
films I had seen. It was simple compared to other film posters such as Shutter
Island. I had difficulty getting the neck right as as it moves down there is a
blue hue that fades in with it. After many attempts this is what I settled with
– but looking back I may have tries a gradient tool rather than the blend tool.
I thought the eyes went well and look similar to the original. On the original
poster there is a sort of gravel effect on the woman especially around the
edges which makes the contours of her face more prominent. I think I got the font correct but maybe not
the size and proportion but it is very similar. I also didn’t add the shadow on
the right side of the face.
The insect over the mouth intrigued me so I looked up what
it was and found this interesting article about it
I then looked at this article which told me that if you
enlarge the moth image on the poster, its actually a collection of bodies to
create the skull effect
